PASSPORT TO CHRISTMAS
What is the passport?
It is a campaign put on by the Blackfalds & District Chamber of Commerce to encourage shopping locally at Chamber Member businesses.
How Does it work?
Make sure you have something to stamp passports – a small self-inking stamp is the best way to go. Ideally would be something that identifies your business.
Before the promotion starts, a Chamber rep will bring by a poster, a drop box and passports for your customers
During the promotion, customers collect one stamp from your business for every $10 spent
Once they have collected 24 stamps to complete the passport, they can put the completed passport in your drop box and enter to win $500 in Blackfalds Bucks.
Passport winners can only spend the $500 in Blackfalds Bucks at businesses who participated in the passport.
For 2019 there will be 6 prizes of $500 – so an additional $3000 that must be spent at participating businesses.
Why should your business participate?
Your business name will be printed on 12,000 passports that will be in circulation in the community
In 2018 we had 10,000 passports in circulation, 1958 of them completed and entered into the draw representing $470,000 in local spending
If you want to be able to accept the Blackfalds Bucks from the lucky winners, you have to participate in the promotion
What does it cost?
For businesses holding a 2019 Blackfalds & District Chamber of Commerce membership, cost is $195
No membership? No problem. Cost is $295, includes a 2019 AND 2020 Membership.
